Environmental Policy

Lighting is one of the simplest places to cut electricity use, and the fixtures we build are meant to last long enough that replacing them is rare. This page sets out what we actually do, and what we are still working on.

Last updated 19 September 2026

  • Up to 130lm/W Peak efficacy across the range
  • Zeromercury Unlike the sodium and CFL fittings we replace
  • IP66sealed Built to survive rather than be replaced
What We Do

Six things that actually move the number

Efficacy first

Every fixture is specified by lumens delivered per watt drawn, not by wattage alone. Replacing a 250W sodium street light with a 100W LED head of equivalent output is the single largest saving available on most sites.

Built to stay installed

IP66 sealing, toughened glass and inbuilt surge protection exist because a fitting that fails in the first monsoon has to be manufactured, shipped and installed all over again. Longevity is the largest environmental lever in lighting.

RoHS compliance

Our LED modules and control gear are sourced to the RoHS restrictions on lead, mercury, cadmium and hexavalent chromium. LED sources contain no mercury at all, unlike the discharge lamps they replace.

Recyclable housings

Bodies are pressure die-cast aluminium, the heaviest part of every fixture we make. Aluminium can be remelted repeatedly without losing its properties, so a fixture at end of life is a material worth recovering.

Light where it is needed

Asymmetric optics put light on the carriageway instead of into the sky. Over-lighting a road wastes energy and adds skyglow, so we size the wattage to the pole height and spacing rather than selling the largest fitting.

Short supply legs

Manufacturing at Gandhinagar, Gujarat and selling largely within Gujarat and neighbouring states keeps transport distances short. Batch burn-testing before dispatch means faults are caught at the plant, not on a return trip to site.

Optics

Designing out light pollution

Street and flood lighting is the largest single contributor to skyglow, and most of it is avoidable. Light that leaves a fixture above the horizontal does no useful work on the ground.

We specify asymmetric and narrow-beam optics so the distribution lands on the surface being lit. For roadway projects we recommend wattage against pole height and spacing rather than defaulting upwards, and we will advise a lower wattage where the layout allows it.

  • Asymmetric optics for roadways, so light falls forward onto the carriageway
  • Flat toughened glass rather than a domed lens, which limits upward spill
  • Wattage recommended against pole height and spacing, not sold by the largest number
  • Dimming and sensor options where a site does not need full output all night

End of life

LED fixtures fall under the E-Waste (Management) Rules in India. They should not go to landfill or ordinary scrap.

Separate the aluminium housing, the driver and the LED module, and route the electronics through an authorised e-waste handler. If you bought the fixtures from us and are unsure, contact us and we will help identify the parts.

What we are still working on

We would rather list these honestly than claim them. None of the following is certified or independently measured yet.

  1. 1 Returning aluminium process offcuts to the foundry for remelting as a documented, measured loop
  2. 2 Moving bulk packaging away from plastic strapping and foam to unbleached board
  3. 3 Publishing a take-back route for fixtures we manufactured that have reached end of life
  4. 4 Measuring plant energy use per fixture so the figure can be reported rather than estimated
